Where Policy, Education, and Community Meet
PsyAP’s work focuses on building a safe, equitable, and evidence-based foundation for psychedelic access in Minnesota. While our formal strategic plan is still forthcoming, we are already shaping our program areas around community needs, emerging research, and the realities of Minnesota’s policy landscape.
Our programs reflect the practical work required to move psychedelic access from theory to responsible practice — supporting people, informing policymakers, and challenging misinformation along the way.
Education & Public Resources
Access starts with understanding. PsyAP is developing a resource bank to provide clear, fact-based information about psychedelic safety, effects, therapeutic potential, and emerging models of care. Our goal is to empower individuals, families, communities, and professionals with resources they can trust — grounded in research, culturally responsive, and accessible to people with different levels of experience — to support them in understanding of and advocacy around psychedelic policy.
Public-facing guides, issue briefs, myth-busting content, and community presentations that help Minnesotans navigate a rapidly shifting landscape are forthcoming, to support everyday Minnesotans in their advocacy. As policies evolve, PsyAP will continue to translate complex research and regulatory updates into straightforward, actionable information.
Policy & Advocacy
Minnesota’s psychedelic policy landscape is still emerging, and PsyAP plays a constructive role in shaping that future. This program connects organizational expertise, community experience, and scientific research to assist lawmakers in developing evidence-based, health-centered policies. Our advocacy prioritizes public safety, equitable access, and transparency — ensuring psychedelic reform benefits all Minnesotans, not just well-resourced institutions.
Policy work may include legislative education, testimony, policy frameworks, briefings, and facilitation between stakeholders. As conversations expand at the state and local levels, PsyAP will serve as a trusted, nonpartisan resource for lawmakers seeking accurate information and thoughtful approaches to regulation.
Community Engagement & Access Readiness
Psychedelic access must be shaped by the people most affected by it. This program focuses on building relationships with communities across Minnesota — lifting up lived experiences, identifying gaps and concerns, and preparing for the systems-level needs of safe psychedelic care. From rural communities to culturally specific groups, PsyAP is working to ensure equitable access is embedded from the start.
Future activities may include listening sessions, community partnerships, volunteer initiatives, and collaborations with harm reduction, mental health, and wellness organizations. As Minnesota moves toward regulated psychedelic care, PsyAP will help bridge the gap between policy design, service delivery, and community expectations.
